Jason Stanford to the rescue! [Yeah Right]

Talk about rough gigs: Texas Democratic political consultant Jason Stanford is the new chief spokesman and apologist for scandal-plagued Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann. Not only has Dann admitted to an affair with a subordinate, three of his former aides recently quit in a sexual harassment investigation.

Not only have Dann’s fellow statewide Democratic officeholders pressured him to resign, The Columbus Dispatch reported today that the FBI is inquiring into whether Dann promised to go easy on gambling interests in exchange for campaign contributions. Also today, 42 of the 45 Dems in the Ohio House filed nine counts of impeachment against Dann.

For Stanford, it was just another day at the office.
